Muskegon Lumberjacks couldn’t stop Madison Capitols’ winning run

The Muskegon Lumberjacks and the Madison Capitols met on Saturday, March 28, 2025.

Madison came into the game off the back of a run of six successive wins and managed to claim yet another victory. The game finished 5-2.

The Capitols took the lead early in the first period, with a goal from Egor Barabanov. Charlie Michaud and Finn Brink assisted.

Sam Kappell scored midway through the second period, assisted by Aiden Long and Gavin Uhlenkamp.

Late, Diego Johnson scored a goal, assisted by Egor Barabanov and Charlie Michaud, making the score 3-0.

Lumberjacks’ David Deputy tallied a goal with a minute left, making the score 3-1.

The Lumberjacks narrowed the gap again with a goal from Vaclav Nestrasil, assisted by Chase Stefanek at 8:54 into the third period.

Diego Johnson increased the lead to 4-2 with a goal eight minutes later.

Bobby Cowan also made it 5-2 with a goal less than a minute later, assisted by Colton Jamieson.
