Latest on the Tropical Depression: Wednesday, Sep 17 update from the NHC

The National Hurricane Center released its first advisory for the tropical depression at 4 a.m. Wednesday. The tropical depression is in the Atlantic Ocean, 1,185 miles east-southeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. Packing maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, it is tracking west at 13 mph.

“Slow strengthening is expected, and the system could become a tropical storm later today or tonight”, analysts explained.
