The post-tropical cyclone system was last addressed in a final advisory by the National Hurricane Center at 4 a.m. Thursday. Fernand found new strength and had evolved from a tropical storm into a post-tropical cyclone with sustained winds of 45 mph. Post Tropical Cyclone Fernand is in the Atlantic Ocean, 635 miles east-southeast of Cape Race Newfoundland. The system, with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph, is moving east-northeast at 23 mph.

“The post-tropical cyclone is expected to open up into a trough in 24-36 hours”, analysts stated.
