A 5.0 magnitude quake hit near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on Friday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A tremor jolted the area at 06:56 UTC (17:56 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was roughly 159 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
