A 5.3 magnitude quake was detected near Vilyuchinsk at midday on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the area at 01:04 UTC (13:04 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located roughly 39 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk and occurred at a depth of 81 km.
