Update: Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude registered close to Ozernovskiy, Russia on July 30

A 5.3 magnitude quake was recorded near Ozernovskiy Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook at 09:12 UTC (20:12 local time), with its epicenter situated roughly 198 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy and a depth of 10 km.

During the past week, there have been six tremors of magnitude 5.5 or higher centered nearby. The biggest, a 5.8 magnitude quake, hit near Vilyuchinsk prior to this quake.
