Update: Earthquake jolts region close to Vilyuchinsk, Russia on July 30 – 5.5 magnitude registered

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.5 magnitude quake occurred near Vilyuchinsk Wednesday afternoon.

The tremor shook the area at 03:13 UTC (14:13 local time). It occurred at a depth of 35 km with the epicenter located roughly 146 km south-southeast of Vilyuchinsk.
