Update: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude detected near Valparaíso, Chile on July 15

A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Valparaíso on Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the area at 01:09 UTC (20:09 local time). It occurred at a depth of 24 km with the epicenter roughly 52 km north-northwest of Valparaíso.
