Update: High surf advisory issued for San Diego County Coastal Areas Sunday night, waves of 5 to 7 feet likely

An updated high surf advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 8:50 p.m. in effect until 11 p.m. for San Diego County Coastal Areas.

“Large breaking waves of 5 to 7 feet, with local sets to 8 feet,” can be anticipated according to the NWS. “Surf will lower Monday, but remain elevated with breaking waves of 3 to 6 feet.”

“Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion,” describes the NWS. “Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.”
