On Thursday at 12:21 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch valid for Friday between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. for Fremont County including Canon City/Howard/Texas Creek and Pueblo County including Pueblo.

Residents can expect winds to be east 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity as low as 10%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” describes the NWS.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
