The watch was active for Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and North Fork.
Winds are expected to be south 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity 7 to 12 percent.
“With sunset, the winds are subsiding, temperatures are cooling and the RH is recovering at this time. The Red Flag Warnings will expire at 8 p.m., but the Red Flag Warnings for Saturday remain in effect,” according to the National Weather Service. “Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning.”
