The National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch at 3:19 a.m. on Friday valid for Saturday between noon and 8 p.m. for North Fork and Gunnison Basin.

Expect winds to be southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity 8 to 13 percent.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
