Update: Fire weather watch issued for Colorado River for Wednesday – gusts up to 35 mph

On Monday at 8:05 p.m. an updated fire weather watch was released by the National Weather Service valid for Wednesday between noon and 9 p.m. for Lower Colorado River.

Expect winds to be west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity 7 to 12%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” comments the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
