Update: Fire weather watch issued for Colorado River Headwaters for Thursday – enhanced fire threat

On Wednesday at 4:29 a.m. the National Weather Service released an updated fire weather watch valid for Thursday between noon and 8 p.m. for Colorado River Headwaters.

Residents can expect winds to be southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity 8 to 13%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” describes the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
