Fire weather watch in place for Colorado River and Colorado River Headwaters for Saturday – increased fire danger

At 2:05 a.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service released a fire weather watch valid for Saturday between noon and 8 p.m. for Lower Colorado River and Colorado River Headwaters.

Winds are expected to be southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity 7 to 12 percent.

“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” describes the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
