The National Weather Service issued an updated fire weather watch at 12:26 a.m. on Wednesday valid for Thursday between noon and 7 p.m. for Eastern San Juan Mountains and La Garita Mountains including Wolf Creek Pass and Creede.

Winds are forecasted to be northwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity as low as 7%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
