A fire weather watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 1:19 p.m. valid for Sunday between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. for Pueblo County including Pueblo, Crowley County including Ordway, Otero County including La Junta and Western Comanche Grasslands and Bent County including Las Animas.

Expect winds to be southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph on Saturday and up to 35 mph on Sunday and relative humidity as low as 9%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution and avoid any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
