On Sunday at 8:45 a.m. an updated fire weather watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Monday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for Colorado.

Residents can expect winds to be north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and relative humidity as low as 13 percent.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.

The full list of affected locations includes:

• Fremont County including Canon City/Howard/Texas Creek

• Northern El Paso County including Monument and Black Forest

• Southern El Paso County including Fort Carson and Colorado Springs

• Pueblo County including Pueblo

• Huerfano County including Walsenburg

• Western Las Animas County including Trinidad and Thatcher

• Crowley County including Ordway

• Kiowa County including Eads
