Feb. 15: Earthquake measuring 5.0 shakes region near Yura, Peru

AREQUIPA, Arequipa — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Yura Sunday morning.

At 06:03 UTC (01:03 local time), the area was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake rattled at a depth of 131 km, with its epicenter about 7 km east-northeast of Yura.
