Update: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude recorded close to Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on July 31

A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Severo-Kuril’sk at midnight on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 14:11 UTC (00:11 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 83 km southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk, at a depth of 52 km.
