MUY MUY, Matagalpa — A 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to off the coast of Central America on Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor hit the region at 07:38 UTC (01:38 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter of off the coast of Central America. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
