ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — A 5.1 magnitude quake was reported near Attu Station Friday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The tremor struck the area at 8:25 a.m. (10:25 p.m. local time). It occurred at a depth of 6 miles with the epicenter located approximately 182 miles east-southeast of Attu Station. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.0 event, but later upgraded it to 5.1.
