Update: June 17 – 5.2 magnitude earthquake detected close to Yanglong, China

A 5.2 magnitude quake hit near Yanglong on Wednesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 14:20 UTC (22:20 local time), with its epicenter approximately 263 km west-southwest of Yanglong and a depth of 10 km.

Tremors last week

Over the last week, there have been nine tremors with a magnitude 2.5 or higher centered nearby. The most significant was a 6.3 magnitude earthquake recorded near Dunhuang on Jun. 16.
