The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Vilyuchinsk around midday Sunday.
The tremor shook the region at 02:22 UTC (13:22 local time). It occurred at a depth of 53 km with the epicenter situated approximately 140 km south-southeast of Vilyuchinsk.
