Update: Earthquake measuring 5.8 hits area near Poso, Indonesia on Aug. 16

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.8 magnitude quake occurred near Poso Saturday morning.

The tremor shook the region at 22:38 UTC (06:38 local time). It occurred at a depth of 8 km with the epicenter situated about 12 km north-northwest of Poso.
