Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 reported close to East Pacific Rise on July 19

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.6 magnitude quake hit near East Pacific Rise Saturday morning.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 15:55 UTC (08:55 local time). The epicenter was situated northern of East Pacific Rise, at a depth of 10 km.

Over the last week, another magnitude 2.5 quake was registered in the area, also occurring close to East Pacific Rise prior to this quake.
