Wednesday morning, a 5.3 magnitude quake was detected near Severo-Kuril’sk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 17:31 UTC (03:31 local time). The epicenter was situated approximately 86 km south-southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk, at a depth of 37 km.
