A 5.3 magnitude quake was detected near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 07:18 UTC (18:18 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated roughly 150 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
