Update: Earthquake shakes region southeast of Easter Island on March 13 – 5.2 magnitude registered

EASTER ISLAND, Valparaíso — A 5.2 magnitude quake hit southeast of Easter Island at midnight on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 07:00 UTC (00:00 local time), a tremor jolted the area at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter southeast of Easter Island of southeast of Easter Island.
