Update: June 24 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake reported close to Panguna, Papua New Guinea

A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Panguna on Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 06:17 UTC (17:17 local time), was centered about 55 km south-southwest of Panguna. It occurred at a depth of 43 km.
