According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Calape around midnight Tuesday.

The tremor shook the area at 16:34 UTC (00:34 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated about 15 km east-southeast of Calape.
