Earthquake measuring 5.0 rattles area close to Port Blair, India on July 30

A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Port Blair Wednesday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor shook at 17:21 UTC (23:21 local time), with its epicenter situated approximately 287 km south-southeast of Port Blair and a depth of 40 km.
