Update: Seismic activity on Sept. 5 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake close to Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia reported

Friday morning, a 5.1 magnitude quake was registered close to Severo-Kuril’sk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 20:55 UTC (06:55 local time). The epicenter was situated about 176 km south of Severo-Kuril’sk, at a depth of 15 km.
