Update: 5.6 magnitude earthquake reported near San Fernando, Peru on July 31

CORONEL PORTILLO, Ucayali — A 5.6 magnitude quake struck close to San Fernando on Friday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the area at 00:58 UTC (19:58 local time). It occurred at a depth of 154 km with the epicenter about 13 km east-northeast of San Fernando.
