Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake shakes close to Rat Islands, Aleutian Islands, AK on Dec. 9

Tuesday afternoon, a 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Rat Islands, Aleutian Islands, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor struck the area at 4:30 a.m. (4:30 p.m. local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located of Rat Islands, Aleutian Islands and occurred at a depth of just 3 miles.
