The Spartans took the lead with a minute left in the first when Daniel Russell scored, assisted by Charlie Stramel and Isaac Howard.
The Spartans scored one goals in second period an held the lead 3-2 going in to the second break.
Ryan Walsh tied it up 3-3 with a goal in the middle of the third period, assisted by Ben Robertson.
The Big Red took the lead with 10 seconds remaining of the third after a goal from Sullivan Mack, assisted by Charlie Major and George Fegaras.
