An updated fire weather watch was released by the National Weather Service on Monday at 5:51 p.m. valid for Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. for Pueblo County including Pueblo, Huerfano County including Walsenburg and Western Las Animas County including Trinidad and Thatcher.
Expect winds to be southwest 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph and relative humidity as low as 9 percent.
“Extreme fire danger is expected. Fires will uncontrollably spread and be very destructive,” describes the NWS.
A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
