On Monday at 10:52 a.m. the NWS Fort Worth TX issued a flash flood warning in effect until 12:45 p.m. for Collin County.
At 10:52 a.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges detected thunderstorms producing heavy rain in the warned area, with flash flooding either ongoing or expected to begin shortly, according to the NWS. This flooding is affecting small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, as well as other poorly drained and low-lying areas.
The warning impacts several locations, including McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Wylie, Prosper, Fairview, Princeton, Celina, Lucas, Melissa, Lowry Crossing, New Hope, Weston, Branch, and Lavon Lake.
The NWS advises avoiding flooded roads, as most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles.
