An updated blowing dust advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 6:52 p.m. in effect until 7 p.m. for Southeast Colorado.

The NWS describes, “Northwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.”

“Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” says the NWS. “Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.”

The full list of affected locations includes:

• Pueblo Vicinity/Pueblo County below 6,300 feet

• La Junta Vicinity/Otero County

• Eastern Las Animas County

• Las Animas Vicinity/Bent County

• Lamar Vicinity/Prowers County

• Springfield Vicinity/Baca County
