The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 1:31 p.m. on Tuesday for heavy snow until 2 p.m. for Uncompahgre Plateau/Dallas Divide, Northwestern San Juan Mountains and Paradox Valley/Lower Dolores River.

“At 1:30 p.m., a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from 17 miles northwest of Sawpit to Norwood to 15 miles southeast of Naturita and moving southeast at 15 MPH,” states the NWS.

This includes Colorado 145 between mile markers 87 and 104.

Expect heavy snow in Norwood around 1:35 p.m.

According to the NWS, “Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.”
