KAYAKENTSKY DISTRICT, Republic of Dagestan — A 5.4 magnitude quake was registered close to Novokayakent Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 20:33 UTC (23:33 local time), with its epicenter located approximately 21 km east-northeast of Novokayakent and a depth of 66 km.
