Brighton’s resilience paid off in the Premier League as they secured a vital 3-2 win over West Ham, marking their first victory after a five-game drought.

Brighton took an early lead when Yasin Ayari netted after 13 minutes, making it 1-0.

Straight after the break, Mohammed Kudus found the net and equalised for West Ham.

With only seven minutes left to play, West Ham’s Tomas Soucek took the lead.

West Ham looked like they were going to win for most of the game. The equaliser came, when Kaoru Mitoma found the net for Brighton.

Brighton took the lead just one minut later as Carlos Baleba scored, with an assist by Brajan Gruda.

It was West Ham’s seventh game in a row without a win.

With four games remaining, Brighton are in ninth place in the table and West Ham are in 17th.

The previous outing between the teams ended in a 1-1 draw, with West Ham at home in December.

Brighton play Newcastle on 3 May, Wolverhampton on 9 May and Liverpool (home) on 18 May. West Ham’s next opponents are Tottenham on 3 May, Manchester United on 10 May and Nottingham Forest (home) on 17 May.
