As per the National Hurricane Center’s 4 am Saturday update, Tropical Storm Alvin is currently at the Pacific Ocean, 205 miles south of the Southern Tip of Baja California. With maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, the system is moving north at 10 mph. Alvin is forecast to change into a remnant.
Hazards affecting land
Surf. Swells generated by Alvin will affect portions of the coasts of west-central and southwestern Mexico and the southern Baja California Peninsula through the weekend. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
