The Nottingham were quickest out of the blocks, and went 1-0 up when Elliot Anderson netted in the fifth minute.
In the 16th minute Chris Wood increased the lead for Nottingham Forest with an assist by Anthony Elanga.
The goal that reduced the score to 2-1 came right at the end of the game, when Richarlison found the net for the Spurs, with an assist by Pedro Porro.
It leaves Nottingham Forest in third place and that Tottenham are in 16th place.
The previous outing between the teams ended in a 1-0 home win for Nottingham Forest in December.
