The Magpies took the lead in added-time in the first half when Alexander Isak netted, with an assist by Jacob Murphy.

In the 66th minute, Bryan Mbeumo equalised for Brentford.

Sandro Tonali scored the deciding goal in the 74th minute.

Newcastle are in fifth place after the game, while Brentford are in 11th.

The previous outing between the teams ended in a 3-1 home win for Newcastle in December.
