The Met Office has issued an updated Yellow snow and ice warning for several regions across the UK for Friday and Saturday.
The warning is covering parts of Central, Tayside and Fife, Grampian, Highlands and Eilean Siar, Strathclyde. All local areas affected are listed below.
Snow flurries are set to hit the regions, beginning at approximately 7am on Friday and dying out by 12am on Saturday.
The updated Yellow warning for snow and ice was announced at 11:52am on Wednesday, January 22.
A Met Office forecast said: “Outbreaks of rain spreading northeastwards on Friday morning will fall as snow initially, especially on hills, before reverting to rain and eventually easing. As much as 15-25 cm is possible above 300 m. Given the strong winds that will accompany the snow, temporary blizzard conditions are possible over higher ground, with some drifting also possible for a time. A lower levels, snow will be more transient in nature and accumulations smaller, patchier and shorter-lived as snow turns to rain during the morning.”

What is an updated yellow weather warning?
The Met Office has three categories of weather warning, depending on the likely impact of severe weather and also how likely it is to strike in a particular area.
A yellow warning is issued when weather conditions are expected to disrupt travel and traffic and may impact on daily routines but are not likely to pose a risk to life or property.
An amber warning is more severe and advises people to think about changing their plans to minimise the risk.
A red warning means weather conditions are expected to be dangerous with widespread damage to property and a risk to life, with the public usually advised to avoid travelling.
The Yellow weather alert for snow and ice will remain in effect until 12am on Saturday.
