Dubuque Fighting Saints grab extra point vs. Green Bay Gamblers in overtime

The Green Bay Gamblers and the Dubuque Fighting Saints tied 4-4 in regulation on Saturday, March 28, 2025.

Dubuque beat Green Bay in overtime 5-4.

Dubuque’s Gavin Cornforth scored the game-winning goal.

The Fighting Saints took the lead late in the first period, with a goal from Colin Frank. Heikki Ruohonen assisted.

The Gamblers tied it up 1-1 with a goal from William Samuelsson with a minute left in the first, assisted by Vasily Zelenov.

The Gamblers scored two goals in second period an held the lead 3-2 going in to the second break.

The Fighting Saints tied the score 3-3, only 46 seconds into the third when Heikki Ruohonen scored, assisted by Lucas Van Vliet.

Will Zellers took the lead with a goal in the middle of the third period, assisted by Egor Shilov and Lukas Peterson.

Michael Barron tied the game 4-4 with a goal four minutes later, assisted by Charlie Arend. The game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 44 seconds before Gavin Cornforth scored the game-winner for the team, assisted by Edison Engle.

The Gamblers were called for six penalties, while the Fighting Saints received five penalties.
