NIUATOPUTAPU, Niuas — A 5.1 magnitude quake hit close to Hihifo on Saturday around midday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor jolted at 23:27 UTC (11:27 local time), with its epicenter approximately 91 km east-northeast of Hihifo and a depth of 10 km.
