SARANGANI, SOCCSKSARGEN — A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Balangonan on Tuesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 23:43 UTC (07:43 local time), a tremor hit the region at a depth of 58 km, with its epicenter about 7 km north of Balangonan.
