TAMARUGAL, Tarapacá — A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Colchane on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the area at 10:22 UTC (07:22 local time). The epicenter was about 72 km south-southwest of Colchane, at a depth of 124 km.
